
About the Role
This is a true “Learn & Earn” position – the perfect entry point into the growing fire protection industry. You will work side-by-side with experienced Fire Extinguisher, Fire Alarm, and Fire Sprinkler technicians while getting paid to learn valuable, in-demand trade skills. No prior fire protection experience is required, but a strong work ethic and desire to build a long-term career are a must.
Requirements
What You’ll Do (Daily Responsibilities)
Assist senior technicians with inspection, testing, service, and installation of:
Portable fire extinguishers
Fire alarm systems (conventional and addressable)
Wet, dry, and special-hazard fire sprinkler systems
Emergency/exit lighting and suppression systems (clean agent, kitchen hood, etc.)
Carry tools and equipment, stage materials, and keep job sites clean and organized
Perform basic tasks under direct supervision (recharging extinguishers, replacing sprinkler heads and alarm devices, pulling wire, mounting equipment, hydrostatic testing, etc.)
Complete required paperwork and digital reports using mobile apps/tablets
Maintain company vehicle stock and perform basic vehicle/equipment maintenance
Deliver outstanding customer service while representing the company professionally
What We’re Looking For
Minimum 18 years of age with a valid driver’s license and clean driving record
High school diploma or GED
1+ years of experience desired in any of these areas (highly preferred but not required):
Construction, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, low-voltage, or mechanical trades
Military service (especially technical MOS/rates)
Automotive/diesel mechanic or similar hands-on work
Ability to pass pre-employment drug screen and background check
Comfortable working on ladders, in attics, on lifts, and in commercial/industrial environments
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Reliable transportation and excellent attendance record
Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work in varying weather conditions
